A tasty dip makes a perfect appetizer for a spring or summer gathering. With this delicious recipe from @millennialnonna, you can ditch the bland pre-made store dip and wow your guests with the savory onion flavors of our French Cuffs Seasoning.

Serve this scrumptious dip up with chips, or if you're feeling adventurous, use it as a dipping sauce for fries, veggies, rustic bread, or even burgers.

Here’s what you’ll need to make this mouth-watering dip for yourself:

Ingredients:

Caramelized Onions:

  • 3 medium yellow onions, diced
  • 1 garlic clove, grated
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • Pinch each of salt and sugar
  • Few tablespoons of water (as needed)

Dip:

Directions:

  1. Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the onions and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Reduce the heat to low.
  3. About 10 minutes in, add a pinch of salt and sugar.
  4. Cook for another 35 to 40 minutes, stirring every few minutes. If the onions start to stick or brown, add a few tablespoons of water as needed to rehydrate them and deglaze the pan.
  5. Around the last minute of cooking, add the grated garlic.
  6. Total cook time is at least 45 minutes, and the onions should be a rich, brown color with a jam-like consistency. Remove from pan to cool.
  7. Add cooled onions, sour cream, mayo, Worcestershire, Sergio’s Seasoning, French Cuffs Seasoning, and chives to a bowl and stir together until creamy. To allow flavors to develop, refrigerate for at least two hours (overnight is even better).
  8. Serve at room temperature and enjoy!
